Detectives and Clue Seekers!
Come out to The Tech Museum's Annual Summer Party for "MysteryNight at the Museum!"
There will be plenty of cases to solve
Find the clues, collect the evidence, and prove the facts.
Discover mysteries at The Tech you have never seen before!
This summer, for the first time, your friends are also invited to join the party! Bring a friend who is interested in a Tech membership and
they can put their investigative skills to work too. They can see just how much fun it is being a Tech Member. They will receive a free
trial membership for 2 months just for attending by signing up at the membership desk.
There will be activities for all age groups:
- Learn how to become a crime specialist by participating in our own version of CSI. Also, have fun learning how to spool DNA, and the basics of cell staining. All taught by our "Stanford at The Tech" students.
- Use your magnifying glass to track down the clues with our Tech Scavenger Hunt
- Examine your fingerprints and discover what makes them unique
- See a variety of captivating IMAX films
- And much, much more!
And just for the adults:
Dinner and drinks will be available at Café Primavera from 5:30pm-8:00pm. Prices vary from $5.00 - $12.00 per person. Buy your dessert
tickets for the Ice Cream Sundae Bar! Tickets are just $5.00 per person.
We encourage you to dress the part! It may help inspire your inner-detective skills.

During the last 110 years the area known as Silicon Valley has poured out inventions, innovations, and developments
in a volume unprecedented in history.
Meet John McLaughlin, one of the authors of Silicon Valley: 110 Year
Renaissance. Hear him discuss the last 110 years of this area and how
the Silicon Valley has poured out inventions, innovations, and
developments in a volume unprecedented in history. The book, published
by the Santa Clara Valley Historical Association, gives readers an
insight into the phenomenon of Silicon Valley and profiles the people
and companies that put California's technology industry on the map.
Books are available for purchase at The Tech Store. John will be signing
books after the lecture.

19th Comcast San Jose Jazz Festival: August 8-10 |

Free Access to the Jazz Festival for the Tech Museum Members!
The sounds of jazz return to downtown San Jose August 8-10, in one of the
city’s most anticipated annual events. From Friday afternoon to Sunday
evening, over 80,000 music lovers will converge on the heart of Silicon
Valley to enjoy over 1,000 musicians on 10 stages performing three days of
jazz, blues, salsa, Latin and many other forms of contemporary music.
This year, the Tech will be enclosed within the Festival boundaries.
Therefore, to access the Museum during the weekend of the Jazz Festival,
The Tech members will have to wear a festival wristband. To get your free
wristband, present your Tech Museum membership card at the Festival’s Main
Info Booth located on Market Street at the Circle of Palms in front of the
Museum of Art (one free wristband per membership card; the booth opens one
hour before the 1st performance of the Festival and closes at 8pm). All
participating museum of the month members will have to pay $5.00 to access
the festival and Tech Museum for the weekend.

At Children's Discovery Museum of San Jose you can expect to test, crank, listen, prod and tinker. One of the largest children's museums in
