After a slow 0-3 start, the men’s lacrosse team won six of their last nine regular season games (including four of their last five) to qualify for the Eastern College Athletic Conference New England Tournament.

A decisive 16-4 win in the opening round over Daniel Webster College put the Engineers into the semi-finals against top-seeded Plymouth State University in May. In what some observers called a “classic,” the Engineers came out on the short end of a 7-6 double overtime decision. The loss ended their season with a final record of 7-7.

Twelve of the team’s 25 players were placed on the Pilgrim Lacrosse League All-Academic Team.

Senior tri-captain goalie Zachary E. Brewer ’07 had an outstanding season and was selected as the team’s Most Valuable Player. He was chosen as a representative in the senior East-West All Star Game played at Harvard University and helped lead the East All-Stars to victory.

Walter A. Alessi is the head coach of the men’s lacrosse team.
