Updated 3/14/2013, 6:35 p.m.

State police recovered a body from the Charles River on Thursday.

Around noon, troopers and the state police marine unit responded to the report of a dead body under the Harvard Bridge near Memorial Drive, and according to MSP Twitter, recovered a dead body.

The same tweet said that the situation is being investigated by the MSP detective unit for Middlesex County, where the remains were discovered. According to Suffolk County Press Secretary Jake Wark, though, Suffolk DA has a tentative identity on the Suffolk side, which has resulted in a joint investigation by Suffolk and Middlesex.

According to Wark, there are no signs of foul play. The identity should be confirmed tonight, according to Wark, and more information is to be released to the public tomorrow.

The investigation into the cause and manner of death is ongoing, said Wark.
