Weather turns cooler as we head into fall

The weather has been quite pleasant for the first week of classes. Today, it will get a little warmer, topping out in the mid 80s with strong westerly winds. Higher pressure will move into the region on Friday, bringing lots of sunshine but also cooler nighttime temperatures. Friday night will cool off into the low 50s, meaning it will be time to break out a sweater. Saturday will be nice as well — definitely a day worth spending outside. On Sunday, a warm front will push up from the Mid-Atlantic, bringing with it some moderate rain showers throughout the day. The weather next week looks to be fairly sunny and dry, with high temperatures expected to be in the mid 70s through the following weekend.
On another note, we are losing daylight fast. Starting Saturday, sunsets will now be before 7 p.m., with it getting 1.7 minutes earlier each day on average this month.
